Publishes
the Daily Edge fan website previewing the debut
of Warner Brothers' eight-disc High-Definition Superman Anthology available for the first time on Blu-ray June 7th, 2011
HOLLYWOOD — Renowned director of SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE Richard Donner recently spoke at length and from the heart about his experiences making one of the most beloved cinematic superhero films of all time.
Appearing as a special guest at the Los Angeles Times' Hero Complex Film Festival held at Mann's Chinese Theater June 9-12, Donner shared several fascinating and touching stories about his super star Christopher Reeve, whose passing evokes strong emotions to this day.
Donner also laments the production politics which robbed the director of his chance to complete SUPERMAN II as a contiguous sequel as intended. The recent release of SUPERMAN: THE MOTION PICUTRE ANTHOLOGY in an eight-disc high-definition Blu-ray box set gives fans a brilliant new look at SUPERMAN II as Donner planned it to play out. It is a far, fascinating cry from the theatrical SUPERMAN sequel credited to director Richard Lester in 1980.
FilmEdge.net recaps Richard Donner's appearance at the Hero Complex Film Festival in our FEATURE ARTICLE ON PAGE 7D.
