UPDATED 7/23/11 — 20th Century Fox has been unleashing a steady stampede of video clips and trailers for RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, and this weekend was no exception. Earlier today at San Diego's massive Comic-Con 2011 event, Fox premiered this new teaser trailer below, which features many extended shots of the apes' revolution we've glimpsed, plus many never before seen clips and action.
While many fans of the classic PLANET OF THE APES film franchise of the 1960s-70s expressed early doubts that Rupert Wyatt's prequel story would possess the same thematic punch as the originals did at the height of their creative and cinematic impact. Yet the more FilmEdge sees of RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, the more we and many others are impressed with the film's potential as a modern origin story telling how mankind fell and apes rose to rule the Earth.
