BOND actresses past and present gather in Cannes // May 28. 2012
Last week, two Bond women joined up at the Cannes Film Festival to continue the professional and personal bonds between actresses who have appeared in 007 films over fifty years. SKYFALL's Bérénice Marlohe and Martine Beswick (FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE, THUNDERBALL) posed and chatted about their own experiences in Bond's cinematic universe. Marlohe and Beswick also appeared in conjunction with the SKYFALL trailer debut in France and two Cannes festival events celebrating Bond's 50th anniversary in film: a Bond on the Beach series of open-air events showing DR. NO and CASINO ROYALE on May 17th, followed by a screening of FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE on the 21st.

First SKYFALL teaser trailer debuts online at 007.com // May 21. 2012
At 8:30am BST, the official 007.com website released the brand new teaser trailer for SKYFALL, the 23rd James Bond feature film starring Daniel Craig. This 1:24 trailer hints at and provides evidence for many of the talked about themes of SKYFALL, including a violent and costly attack on MI-6 headquarters and a direct threat launched against Bond's boss M (Judi Dench). It's a fast-paced teaser that offers only glimpses of scenes along with co-stars Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and the mere silhouette of Javier Bardem as the film's villain, Silva.
This trailer's tone is quite serious and somber compared to those of Craig's previous two entries, typified in the quick shot of M standing over the flag-draped caskets of eight (or more) of her colleagues. Everything about this trailer indicates big trouble for Bond: gone are the one-liners and fist-crunching heroics of 007, replaced by an aura of foreboding that could well have franchise-changing implications.
FilmEdge.net is all the more eager to see SKYFALL when it debuts in theaters this November.
First SKYFALL videoblog from director Sam Mendes // February 21. 2012
Late tonight in the US, the first videoblog entry from SKYFALL director Sam Mendes debuted on 007.com, the official James Bond website. In the all-too-brief 1:30 entry, Mendes describes his own "personal relationship with Bond" which began as a nine-year-old fan of the films. Mendes also describes how CASINO ROYALE reminded him a great deal of the Sean Connery era of Bond films, and the prospect of making such a "big, fabulous, glamorous, escapist movie" and comment on today's world simultaneously. While short, we can only expect many future entries to follow from Mendes and perhaps others in the cast and crew as the 50th year of Bond leads up to SKYFALL's release this autumn.

Production video relaunches Official 007 webstite for SKYFALL // December 28. 2011
The official James Bond 007 website has relauched itself with a new design and content geared directly to promote SKYFALL while also paying homage to the Bond legacy. The grayscale, high-tech design is eyecatching and appropriately gritty for the Daniel Craig era of 007, and the content is fairly robust for the new site jumpstart including sections for News, Skyfall, the Bond in Motion vehicle exhibit, Videos and Games currently touting the GoldenEye 007: Reloaded platform game. A retro flip-card countdown ticks off the 296-or-so days until SKYFALL debuts in theaters. Watch the introductory video by veteran Bond producer Michael G. Wilson in FilmEdge's Video Surveillance sector.
