FILMEDGE STREAMS THE NEW THEATRICAL TRAILER FOR J.J. ABRAMS' SCI-FI THRILLER SUPER 8

THEATRICAL TRAILER:

At last J.J. Abrams and Paramount have released the full theatrical trailer for SUPER 8, the writer/director's upcoming sci-fi thriller due in theaters June 10th.

Indeed SUPER 8 is very much Abrams' personal salute and cinematic homage to the mid-1970s and early-1980s films of Steven Spielberg, which include a wide variety of stories from the summer shocker JAWS to the UFO mystery of CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND.  FilmEdge will soon publish our full article analysis of this new trailer, but for now just watch and enjoy:

STORY SYNOPSIS:

In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident.  Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth -  something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.

Directed by J.J. Abrams from his original script, the Amblin Entertainment and Bad Robot Production film is produced by Steven Spielberg, Abrams and Bryan Burk.

The film stars Elle Fanning, Kyle Chandler, Ron Eldard, Noah Emmerich, Gabriel Basson, Joel Courtney, Ryan Lee, Zach Mills and Amanda Michalka.

SUPER 8 is in theaters June 10.
