Paramount released a high-resolution file of the SUPER 8 international one-sheet poster design just before the holiday weekend and two weeks ahead of the film's theatrical release on June 10. Once again, this new poster design blends visual influences from Spielberg's CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND (the lens-flared glowing orbs of light in the sky, and the triangular street reflection which mimics the two-lane road stretching ahead into the lights) and some elements of E.T. (the kids bathed in a bright backlight while touching hands). Preview it below and download the hi-res poster by clicking on the thumbnail.
To view the first teaser poster in the middle below, flip the design to the left to view the landscape image as silhouettes of the filmmaking kids stand under a stormy sky as a mysterious light glows behind the water tower in the distance. The illuminated horizon and silhouetted trees are one more visual reference to the flims of Steven Spielberg, which writer/director J.J. Abrams pays tribute to in the themes and style of SUPER 8.
