April 27, 2011 — Two new international poster designs feature mermaid Syrena and Philip
Today two new PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES international posters washed up on the web, featuring Astrid Berges-Frisbey as the mermaid Syrena adding Sam Claflin as her romantic interest Philip, foreshadowing their fish-out-of-water love story subplot as Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), Blackbeard (Ian McShane) and his pirate daughter Angelica (Penelope Cruz) race to find the mythic Fountain of Youth.
 
April 8, 2011 —International poster design for PIRATES: ON STRANGER TIDES leaked online
Today images of a new PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES international poster hit the web, a design combining the four character poster poses seen individually below in separate Jack, Angelica, Blackbeard and Barbossa designs, adding the trio of mermaids in the bottom right corner. We also offer the Mermaid poster design for fan viewing, as it appeared on the web at the end of March. FilmEdge notes that neither of these posters are official releases provided to us by Disney's domestic marketing, so the resolution quality of these international designs are not up to official standards.

March 17, 2011 — Penelope Cruz stars as Angelica in new PIRATES: ON STRANGER TIDES character poster
FilmEdge called it in our article from March 14th when we anticipated the new Jack Sparrow poster would usher in a series of character posters for PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES, and today Disney confirmed this with their official release of the Angelica design poster.
As Angelica, Penelope Cruz looks alluring and lethal as Blackbeard's pirate daughter, ready for action with swords in-hand. As in Jack's poster, a furious sea battle rages in the background under stormy skies at sunset.
This second official hi-res release in two days joins Johnny Depp's Captain Jack poster (also available here in hi-res) though the designs do not join exactly as integrated pieces of a quad-style set as we thought they might. Small matter, since the character poster series if a winner already and FilmEdge fully expects to see Ian McShane as Blackbeard in third poster very soon. UPDATE: IGN just posted their exclusive debut of the Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) PIRATES 4 poster. FilmEdge will debut the hi-res full-size poster tomorrow!
March 16, 2011 — Jack Sparrow returns for a second new PIRATES: ON STRANGER TIDES poster close-up
FilmEdge knew that more PIRATES 4 posters were on the horizon, and today Disney officially released the second Jack Sparrow poster in this new close-up design of Johnny Depp's iconic character. We're still thinking more character one-sheet designs are ahead, possibly with one poster each for Blackbeard (Ian McShane), his pirate daughter Angelica (Penelope Cruz) and maybe Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) as well to join up for a quad-design. This wish might not come to pass, but we're keeping our sabres crossed. For now enjoy this ultra-high-resolution poster ready for download which will also be showing up on bus stop shelter displays soon!
 
March 14, 2011 — Jack Sparrow takes center stage in new PIRATES 4 one-sheet poster... part one of four?
Alluring mermaids, a raging sea battle and a shrunken head accompany Captain Jack Sparrow in the newly released movie poster for Disney's PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES, sourced first by IGN. Star Johnny Depp takes center stage in what we hope might be the first in a series of character posters which could join in a four-panel quad design.
So far FilmEdge has no proof this will happen, but given the previous wide format poster of Jack firing two pistols (below), we know the burning ship in the background is seen (in a different pose) amid an epic sea battle of a dozen-plus ships in that artwork. Given how the ship in this new poster is truncated at the right edge of the image, we hope this is a clue leading to a quad-poster panoramic set featuring Depp's co-stars Penelope Cruz as Angelica, Ian McShane as Blackbeard, and Geoffrey Rush as Hector Barbossa. The trend to promote films with lead character poster designs has grown in recent years, and PIRATES 4 seems like a natural candidate for such marketing treatment.

November 15, 2010 — Disney Releases Official ON STRANGER TIDES Teaser One-Sheet Poster
Disney has sent FilmEdge an unbranded, high-resolution file of the new PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES teaser one-sheet poster design, which debuted earlier on Yahoo Movies. The poster features the same skull and crossed swords design as prior PIRATES teasers but with a definite metallic sheen on the skull — perhaps signifying a valuable treasure of silver and gold as Pirates are known to seek.
