THE SHAPE OF FEAR 30 YEARS OF TERROR PHOTO GALLERY OPENS WITH STAR PORTRAITS
MALEK AKKAD PROVIDES OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION OF A NEW HALLOWEEN MOVIE
 |
Perhaps the biggest news breaking at this weekend's 30 YEARS OF TERROR convention in Pasadena is producer Malek Akkad's confirmation that a new HALLOWEEN film is in the works, reportedly to begin shooting in early 2009!
In Saturday's Q&A session on the Future of HALLOWEEN, Akkad commented on the project as much (or as little) as he legally could with this revelation:
"There will be another HALLOWEEN. We're going to make an announcement really soon, and everyone's going to be happy. Contrary to everything you read on the internet, those [rumors] are all false."
Malek added, "The only thing I can confirm now is that Tyler Mane will be back as Michael" and that the new film will be a theatrical feature release, not direct-to-DVD.
This topic continued much less formally and quite less officially in Sunday's panel from Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN including Scout Taylor-Compton, Danielle Harris, Kristina Klebe, Dee Wallace, Jenny Gregg Stewart, Leslie Easterbrook and Ken Foree. The group, obviously sworn to secrecy if they new any details, still had fun speculating which of their characters might have survived to appear in the continuing story.
Reports indicate this new film will be a follow-up to Zombie's 2007 HALLOWEEN, and unofficial word is that fellow cast members will return with Mane, but since deals are not final, neither Akkad nor the actors would comment directly on who else is returning.
The title is not yet revealed either, but it was noted that Universal still owns the rights to 1981's HALLOWEEN II, and so it's possible that neither that story nor the exact title would be available for use in the upcoming film.
The Shape of Fear will keep you posted on official news on the upcoming HALLOWEEN film as it breaks. |
30 YEARS OF TERROR CONVENTION UPDATES
The upcoming 30 YEARS OF TERROR convention in Pasadena is only two months away, and all HALLOWEEN fans should be there!
The guest list of HALLOWEEN franchise alumni continues to grow, including award-winning director of photography Dean Cundey, Scout Taylor-Compton and 20 cast and crew members from Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN.
Scheduled to appear with Scout are Danielle Harris, Kristina Klebe, Daeg Faerch, Hanna Hall, William Forsythe, Ken Foree, Tom Towles, Sybil Danning, Daniel Roebuck, Dee Wallace, Leslie Easterbrook and many others.
Stars from John Carpenter's original HALLOWEEN will also appear, including Charles Cyphers, P.J. Soles, John Michael Graham, Tommy Lee Wallace, Brian Andrews and recent addition to the list Will Sandin, who played young Michael Myers in the film's prologue.
Numerous cast members and crew from HALLOWEEN II through 8 will also join in the celebration to relate tales and memories of their own film experiences in the franchise's cinematic journey over the last three decades.
IMPORTANT HOTEL NEWS: while the Sheraton Hotel has sold out, additional rooms are available for booking at the nearby Hilton. Due to the popularity of this event, we recommend you make your reservations as soon as possible!
Tickets to the 3-day convention are also selling fast, but VIP packages are still available to maximize your access and enjoyment of this historic horror film event. For details on daily events, guest appearance, auction info and more, visit the official 30 YEARS OF TERROR website for details. |

ROB ZOMBIE/OZZY TOUR
ROCKING CANADA
Rob Zombie and Ozzy Osbourne's concert tour is earning 4-star reviews in Canada, after last night's appearance at the MTS Centre in Winnepeg. Check out this review excerpt from Canoe:
Halloween came early for heavy metal fans at MTS Centre last night, where monster rockers Rob Zombie and Ozzy Osbourne delivered a demonic double-bill of campy thrills and macabre chills.
The co-headliners proved a perfect match for the pre-Hallow's Eve weekend, whipping the crowd of 11,500 into a frightful frenzy with their riff-heavy head-bangers and devilish hard rock.

February 28 2007—

Rob
Zombie blogged
us a link to three new photos from his GRINDHOUSE fake-film
trailer, showing off actors Sheri Moon Zombie, Bill
Moseley, Tom Towles and Udo Kier in their hotsy-totsy
Nazi costumes. Go take a look now.

January 21 2007—
Rob
Zombie just blogged
that he's wrapped filming of his GRINDHOUSE faux-film
trailer, Werewolf Women of the SS.
Rob's
trailer will be one of at least three ads for non-existent
films showing during 'intermisison' of Robert Rodriguez
and Quentin Tarantino's 1970s exploitation flick homage
GRINDHOUSE,
coming to theaters April 6.
Werewolf
Women of the SS stars Sheri Moon Zombie, Bill Moseley
and Nicholas Cage.

January 18 2007—
GRINDHOUSE
update: the first photo from Rob Zombie's 'intermission'
trailer for the fake film Werewolf Women of the
SS has been released.

The
image features Sheri Moon Zombie as
Eva Krupp in a glitzy, glamorous photo reminiscent of
Baby's showtune in Rob's HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES.
And as noted before, CORPSES alum Bill Moselely plays
the evil Dr. Heinrich von Strasser who attempts to transform
beautiful German babes into Nazi werewolves.
Sounds
like Rob's trailer is going to be as wild and wacky
as GRINDHOUSE itself.

the photo above to visit SheriMoonZombie.net
to read more and see the full-size picture of Shari
from Rob's movie trailer contribution to Robert Rodriguez
and Quentin Tarantino's project.

January 17 2007—
Actor
Bill Moseley, star of HOUSE OF 1000
CORPSES and THE DEVIL'S REJECTS among many other projects,
has just blogged
that he wrapped his work on one of the fake GRINDHOUSE
trailers this past weekend.

To
recap the project: directors Robert Rodriguez and Quentin
Tarantino have joined together in GRINDHOUSE,
a stylized tribute to 1970s low-budget exploitation
flicks. GRINDHOUSE simulates
a double feature of two non-existent '70s films, Planet
Terror and Death Proof.
And
in between these truncated feature films appear preview
trailers for other fakes films, as if you're sitting
in a cheap, rundown 1970s movie theater. Bill
Moseley will appear in director Rob Zombie's
faux film trailer, Werewolf Women of the SS.
In this short Grindhouse-style trailer, Moseley plays
Dr. Heinrich von Strasser, a hunchback Nazi scientist
trying to turn beautiful German women in to werewolves.
If
that all sounds like wild and wacky cinema, that's just
the start. Visit the official
GRINDHOUSE site for more details before it opens
April 6.
